Recycle your old, damaged and expired car seat. Here's how

If you are thinking about giving away your car seat or know someone who is -- don't do it!

Safe Kids Maricopa County, NARPRO, City of Tempe and other organizations in the Valley will be collecting old, expired and damaged car seats.

According to a release, car seats break over time and are not recommended for resale and especially reuse.

The 10th Annual "Keep Our Planet Neat, Recycle Your Car Seat" event collected about 1,000 unsafe car seats last year, and they were recycled

Starting Sunday, April 1 until Wednesday, April 25, people can drop off car seats designated drop-off sites.

There will be volunteers on-site to break down all donated car seats for recycling, according to a release.

Plus, there will be another day called Tempe Zero Waste Day where only Tempe and Guadalupe residents can drop off their damaged car seat.
