Police looking for hit and run suspect after a man was killed in west Phoenix

The vehicle police are looking for is possibly a 2001 to 2005 Mercedes C320 with front-end damage.

A man is dead and police are looking for a suspect after a hit-and-run incident in Phoenix Friday night.

The victim was crossing the street at 35th Avenue south of Dunlap Avenue at 10:30 p.m. Friday night when a vehicle traveling southbound on 35th Avenue struck him.

The vehicle fled the area. Police said it was described as a white car, possibly 2001 to 2005 Mercedes C320. It would have some damage to the front.

The victim, 27-year-old Joseph Schott, was pronounced dead at the scene when crews with the Phoenix Fire Department attended to him.

Police ask anyone with information to call Phoenix Police or Silent Witness at (480) W-I-T-N-E-S-S, or for Spanish (480) T-E-S-T-I-G-O. Callers may remain anonymous and could earn a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
