Pinnacle HS vandalized with white supremacy graffiti

Pinnacle High School was vandalized with graffiti overnight.

PHOENIX - Pinnacle High School was vandalized with graffiti overnight.

The graffiti included swastikas, the N-word and phrases such as "white power."

In an email to 12 News Saturday morning, a spokesperson for Paradise Valley Unified Schools said the following:

"We were notified this morning that Pinnacle High School was vandalized with racist symbolism and wording. The Phoenix Police Department was immediately contacted, and our Facilities Department is onsite cleaning up the vandalism. PVSchools does not tolerate this type of behavior. "

"ADL finds the vandalism disturbing," said Carlos Galindo-Elvira, regional director of the Anti-Defamation League in Arizona.

He's appalled.

"We find the language to be racially charged," he said. "The use of a hate symbol to be inappropriate and certainly the language that was used to denote African Americans, truthfully disturbing."

Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton tweeted Saturday afternoon about the incident.

"It not just impacts the school and the students there and the staff, but the neighborhood that surrounds it and the entire community," Galindo-Elvira said.

A spokesperson for the district said the district's first priority is the safety and well-being of the students and staff, adding that the district takes all incidents and any reported allegations seriously and works with law enforcement on all police matters.

Phoenix Police Department said the incident was being investigated by their bias crime unit.

So far, police don't have any suspects. If you have any information related to the vandalism at Pinnacle High School, contact Phoenix police.
