PHOENIX - Firefighters were able to put out a fire at a recycling plant in north Phoenix Friday morning.

The blaze broke out at a plant near Interstate 17 and Sonoran Desert Drive, north of the Loop 101.

Phoenix fire officials say cardboard caught fire and got out of control.

By 6:15 a.m., crews had extinguished of the blaze and were mopping up hot spots.

Employees who were working at the time of the fire were evacuated. No one was injured.
