PD: 6-year-old found syringe, poked 2 other students with it at Tempe school

TEMPE, Ariz — A 6-year-old boy scratched and poked two 6-year-old girls at Scales Technology Academy with a syringe he found, police say.

According to the Tempe Police Department, the syringe the boy found did not have a needle attached to it.

Police say the incident happened on Feb. 14. One of the girls had a small scrap to her left cheek and the other had a puncture wound to her arm.

According to police, the girls were checked out by the school nurse before being sent home with their parents.

Police did not say where the boy found the syringe but did say the boy mentioned a few different places which were part of the investigation.

According to police, no criminal charges will be filed at this time because of the boy's age.
