Operation Lunch Lady makes thousands of meals for Valley children

Some Valley employees are taking the day off and sporting their best lunch lady attire while packing thousands of meals for kids in need.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Summer can be a very difficult time for Valley children who rely on their schools to get their meals.

It's also a time when Arizona food pantries tend to struggle to keep food on their shelves.

To combat that great need, Fingerpaint Marketing is hosting Operation Lunch Lady Friday.

Fingerpaint employees are taking the day off and sporting their best lunch lady attire while packing thousands of meals for kids in need. Each bag of food can feed up to eight people and includes nutrients families need to survive.

Operation Lunch Lady is also teaming up with The Pack Shack to make the 12,500 meals out of their Scottsdale office. The meals will then be donated to the Foothills Food Bank and Resource Center. There are two other locations making thousands more meals nationwide.

This is the second annual company-wide Philanthropy Day at Fingerpaint. The company says they raised more than $11,000 to help kids in foster care last year. This year, they hope to raise $30,000, including a company match to help tackle food insecurity nationwide.
