Mesa church asking for donated bikes to give away to kids this Christmas

Do you have a bike to give away? Fountain of Life church is in need of bikes for its Christmas raffle Wednesday night.

A Mesa church is giving away bikes to children in need Wednesday night and can use your help.

As of Wednesday morning, Fountain of Life church has collected about 20 bikes that they're raffling off to children who are coming with their families to get food Wednesday night. The church is expecting about 175 kids to come Wednesday so they are calling for more bikes.

Donated bikes can be brand new or gently used and for all ages, the Fountain of Life says. People are expected to start lining up for food boxes at 6 p.m. There will be a Christmas song celebration and then the bike raffle will start at 7 p.m.

Every child who has signed up for the raffle will get a ticket and hopes of winning a bike. If the child does not win a bike, they will still leave with a toy. Additionally, Walmart stores across the Valley donated $100 gift cards for the church to give out Wednesday night.

Fountain of Life is located near Recker and Baseline roads and serves about 1,500 people each month through its Mission Kitchen. That adds up to about 35 families a week who depend on them to eat.

If you'd like to help, you can bring bikes to their location at 6056 E. Baseline Rd, Ste. 137 Mesa, AZ 85206. You can also call the church at 480-310-3581 for more information.
