PEORIA, Ariz. - The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that the body of 24-year-old Chintan Shah was recovered at Lake Pleasant Wednesday morning.

Shah had been missing since Sunday afternoon, when he went boating with friends.

His body was found just east of Yavapai Island and Fireman's Cove.

MCSO detectives are continuing their investigation, and the medical examiner's office will perform toxicology and medical exams of the body. Detectives have interviewed eight other passengers on Shah's boat Sunday, and they have said he was not drinking.

A large group of Shah's family members flew in from the Chicago area to help -- his parents rented a boat and even hired a private helicopter company.

Family members told 12 News Shah, a medical student at Midwestern University in Glendale, was very athletic and a good swimmer.
