Kitten looking for a home after remarkable recovery from severe burns

After suffering severe burns to his tail and hind legs and undergoing 87 days of treatment, Benny is looking for a permanent home.

PHOENIX - Meet 17-week-old kitten Benny Cumberbun, who could probably have a story written about him based on his name alone.

Benny is looking for a home after making what the Arizona Humane Society is calling a "remarkable recovery" from severe burns to his back legs and tail. The burns he suffered in May were so bad on his hind legs and tail that muscle was exposed.

Benny was just five weeks old when he was rescued by a good Samaritan and taken to the humane society.

AHS veterinarians said they were unsure Benny's back right leg could be saved, but after 87 days of treatment at the society's trauma hospital and with an AHS Foster Hero, Benny is ready for a permanent home.

Benny is available for adoption at the AHS Sunnyslop Campus at 9226 N 13th Avenue in Phoenix. Those with questions can call 602-997-7585.

Furthermore, through the end of the day today, Casino Arizona and Talking Stick Resort are matching donations to the Arizona Humane Society up to $25,000 to help save more animals like Benny Cumberbun.
