Here's your weekend traffic outlook for September 7 - September 10

Thank you for visiting 12news.com for the weekend traffic report. Here’s what you need to know for the weekend of September 7-10, 2018. Commuters will deal with a few closures and lane restrictions this weekend.

Let’s start off in the West Valley. The I-10 westbound is closed between 51st and 67th avenues for work on the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway interchange, Friday 10 p.m. to Sunday 8 a.m. In addition to that closure, the I-10 westbound on-ramps at 27th, 35th and 43rd avenues are also closed. Please allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes, including the surface streets or the Loop 101.

The I-10 eastbound right two lanes are closed for construction between 51st and 43rd avenues from Friday 9 p.m. till noon Sunday. The I-10 eastbound off-ramp at 43rd Avenue is now closed until mid-October. Please consider using other nearby exits, including 67th or 35th avenues.

Another closure this weekend is on the US 60. Eastbound Grand Avenue is closed at Northern Avenue for bridge work, Sunday 4 a.m. until 6 p.m. Please consider alternate routes that include 59th or 75th avenues as well as Olive and Glendale avenues. Please allow extra travel time.

Now onto the restrictions this weekend. The Loop 101 eastbound is narrowed to two lanes overnight between State Route 51 and Tatum Blvd for freeway lighting maintenance, starting Friday 9 p.m. to Saturday 5 a.m. Please use caution and be prepared to slow down and merge safely when approaching work zone.

SR 143 (Hohokam Expressway) narrowed to one lane in both directions overnight between Washington Street and McDowell Road in Phoenix for pavement improvement, 9 p.m. till 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights. Please allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes, including I-10 and Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway). NOTE: Loop 202 eastbound ramp to McDowell Road closed Sunday - Tuesday nights.

Grand Avenue is (US 60) closed intermittently near Center Street in Wittmann for overhead utility line work. Expect intermittent closures lasting up to 20 minutes each time from Sunday 4 a.m. till noon.

The Arizona Cardinals take on the Washington Redskins Sunday afternoon at 1:25 p.m. at State Farm Stadium. Expect heavy traffic starting at 9 a.m. on the I-10 westbound and Loop 101.
