Opening knight! Medieval Times shows near Scottsdale start Friday

The first Medieval Times show in Arizona starts at 7 p.m. on August 2.

Hear ye! Hear ye! Starting Friday night, Valley residents will have the opportunity to enjoy jousting, knights, royalty and a castle all reminiscent of medieval Spain.

Medieval Times is a themed dining experience complete with a jousting tournament. The castle will open Aug. 2 in the Talking Stick Entertainment District, directly behind Salt River Fields.

Tickets are now on sale on the Medieval Times website from the attraction's opening date onward. The first show starts at 7 p.m. Friday. General admission for adults starts at $45.95 and $35.95 for kids age 12 and under. The attraction offers several different show packages that increase the price but offer more access.

According to the website, six knights on horseback face off in games of skills, jousting and sword fights while spectators feast on a four-course dinner that they eat in true medieval fashion (meaning no silverware).

The show lasts about two hours and features live horses and falcons and real weapons.

The Arizona location is Medieval Times’ 10th location. Other castles locations include Buena Park, Dallas, Atlanta and Orlando.
