Family-run ice cream shop brings sweetness to Laveen community

Laveen Arizona is not the first place you think of when you're craving ice cream, but for the folks who live in the area, it's become a family-run business they can't live without.

Laveen Arizona is not the first place you think of when you're craving ice cream, but for the folks who live in the area, it's become a family-run business they can't live without.

Nindi Wadhwa and his wife Carissa hand-make the ice cream flavors at Scooptacular, but doling out cones aren't the only thing they offer, sundaes and shaved ice are also on the menu.

The parents of three have found much success since opening their doors in 2010, and just recently opened a new location in Gilbert. Their motto? "Made in Laveen for Laveen"

“They’ve been absolutely crazy -- completely blown us away. The Laveen community has been amazing,” Nindi said.

It’s that small town feel in the big city that makes Laveen so special for Nindi and his family -- it’s a way of life that’s almost as sweet as the ice cream they make here.

“We make all our own flavors here, so we get to have a lot of fun," he said.

Scooptacular serves some of the best ice cream in town. Their Vanilla and strawberry flavors have even won national awards.

It all comes together creating a very sweet spot that’s truly delicious for those with a bit of a sweet tooth…
Scooptacular is located at 5150 W Baseline Rd., Laveen Village, AZ 85339
