CASA GRANDE, Ariz. - The Casa Grande Police Department arrested a 16-year-old boy for posting a threat about a shooting at Casa Grande Union High School Thursday, police say.

Police said another student reported the post to Snapchat, which forwarded the information to the FBI.

The FBI notified police about the post, sparking an investigation.

Detectives said they were able to identify the 16-year-old in that investigation and arrested him Thursday at his home.

Police said they have been in contact with the school administration and the boy’s parents.

The teen was booked into the Pinal County Juvenile Detention Center and faces charges of threats and intimidation.

Police said the arrest serves as a reminder that law enforcement takes reports of this nature seriously and will fully investigate them.
