CASA GRANDE, Ariz. - One of the world’s most famous football teams is coming to Casa Grande. FC Barcelona and Grande Sports World are partnering to form a soccer academy.

The Barca Academy will provide soccer training, housing and academic instruction for boys between 9th and 12th grades.

“This is a game changer,” said Barca Director Sean McCafferty.

The students/players will compete in the top division of the US Soccer Development Academy’s youth division. Kids from all over the country and some from other countries take enroll in the academy.

The idea is to help fill the gap between academies that end at age 16 and college and professional programs. The Barca Academy model is based on the Barca methodology based in youth soccer. Core values include ambition, respect, humility, effort, and teamwork.

Grande Sports Academy is one of the elite facilities in the US. It offers a complete residency program that includes the highest quality in training, academics and nutrition along with a state of the art facility.
