Phoenix PD said a woman took her 3-year-old son to the emergency room early Saturday, with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. Police said just before 5 p.m. Saturday the boy has been stabilized but is still in critical condition.
Detectives are investigating the incident at an apartment complex near 35th and Dunlap avenues and are working to "iron out some inconsistencies," according to Phoenix PD.
“The story we have at this point is that it may be an accident but we don’t know the story about the accident we just know we have a little boy in critical condition,” Sgt. Tommy Thomson said.
Police said they're not looking for a suspect and no adults have been arrested.
