2 drivers killed in 5-vehicle crash at Glendale intersection

Two other people were taken to the hospital.

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say two people are dead after a five-vehicle crash in Glendale.

Police in Glendale say the collision occurred about 2:45 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of 91st Avenue and Camelback Road and investigators are trying to determine if speed or impairment was a factor.

They say pickup truck struck a sedan from behind and that caused a chain reaction with the sedan rear-ending an SUV.

The pickup then hit two other vehicles that also were at the intersection.

Police say the drivers of the pickup truck and the sedan both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Their names and ages haven't been released.

Police say two passengers from the SUV were taken to a hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.

Investigators will determine if speed and/or impairment were contributing factors to the fatal collision.
