PHOENIX — A 15-year-old boy was taken to a hospital with "very serious injuries" early Thursday morning after a driver failed to stop for a red light in Phoenix, police said.
According to Phoenix police, the collision happened at 39th Avenue and Baseline Road just before 5:30 a.m.
Police said the boy was crossing in a marked crosswalk when he was hit by the vehicle traveling westbound.
The driver failed to stop for a red light, according to police.
The boy was taken to a hospital with what police described as "very serious injuries."
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and impairment does not appeared to be a factor, police said.
