PHOENIX - Police confirmed that a 13-year-old boy has died from injuries sustained in a crash Saturday.
The boy, Juan Solorio, was pronounced dead on Sunday at the hospital, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
The crash happened on Saturday afternoon near 17th Avenue and Bethany Home Road. Police said a suspected impaired driver lost control of his car and crossed the center line, colliding with a car carrying two women and three children.
One of the women in the victim car has injuries that are life threatening and remains hospitalized, police said.
Police said Saturday that they suspect the driver at fault was impaired, but further investigation is needed to determine what charges, if any, are appropriate.
