The need to help one another is always something to keep an open heart to.

Operation Marshmallow is a service that assists military personnel and their families by sending deployed soldiers hand-packed care packages.

These packages are to boost their morale and say "thank you."

The care packages, which are called Honor Boxes, contain the deployed soldier's favorite snack, hygiene products, a "thank you" card, the trademark, and of course, marshmallows.

Operation Marshmallow has been around for a couple years and has done a wonderful deed for many.

Julie from Operation Marshmallow says in the meantime, they continue to ship boxes and also support homeless families who are living in parks.

"Recently we experienced this first hand, when we met a family with four small children, all living in their car," said Julie in an email.

Julie says that Operation Marshmallow is in need of water, food, blankets, and hygiene items, but mostly in need of support.

"Two years ago, we began taking an overflow of donations out to our city parks, along with water, blankets, and small packs of medicine," said Julie.
