The May 2018 12 Who Care Honoree is Southwest Kids' Cancer Foundation.
The foundation helps children who are diagnosed with cancer and their family members. They provide recreation-based activities in order to improve the quality of life of these special children.
The programs of Southwest Kids' Cancer Foundation are called Arizona Camp Sunrise & Sidekicks. These programs give the kids a time of respite from the clinic and hospital and an opportunity to just be kids and not the "kid with cancer."
When the kids come to the weekend getaways and summer camps they are surrounded by other children just like them. They don't stand out, they are just one of the gang. This organization has helped so many children and we would be humbled and honored to be chosen as a 12 Who Care recipient so we can continue the work we do for our special kids.
