Buckeye police need help finding 2 missing sisters

Police say Rebecca Cox, 10, and Rana Cox, 12, are sisters and haven't been seen since early Thursday morning.

BUCKEYE, Ariz. — The Buckeye Police Department is asking the public for help to find two missing girls. 

The girls went missing from a home near Verrado Heritage Elementary School in Buckeye sometime between 12:00 a.m. and 6:40 a.m. Thursday morning. 

Rebecca Cox is 10 years old. She is Native American and Hispanic. She was last seen wearing the shirt in the picture and black jeans. 

Rana Cox is 12 years old. She is Native American and Hispanic. She was last seen wearing tan pants and carrying a pink and purple spotted backpack.

The Litchfield Elementary School District sent a letter to families on Thursday asking for help in finding the girls. Read the full letter below:

Dear Litchfield Elementary School District Families,

This letter is to request your assistance in the case of two students from Verrado Heritage Elementary School who went missing from their home last night. Please see the bulletin below and contact Buckeye Police Department if you have any information on their whereabouts.

Litchfield Elementary School District and our Verrado Heritage Elementary School HEROES are supporting the Buckeye Police Department with this investigation, with earnest hopes that these two girls are located quickly.
