VERIFY: Is that large Facebook fundraiser actually helping families at the border?

More than $10 million has been raised for one group, the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES).

If you've been on Facebook you've probably seen the viral campaigns to raise money for immigrant families separated at the border.

Celebrities, including Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, have contributed to the causes.

We tracked down the recipients of the two biggest fundraisers and confirmed they're getting the donations.

Both are nonprofit groups in Texas and have been working with immigrant families for years.

More than $10 million has been raised for one group, the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES).

So how does that money help immigrant families?

RAICES said all funds go to bail out families and pay for lawyers.

The minimum bail is $1,500, but it's usually set closer to $5,000 to $10,000. So families remain in detention centers for months unable to afford bail.
