TOLLESON, Ariz. — Two people were flown to safety Friday night after their vehicle got stuck in a fast-moving wash, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.
Firefighters said rescue crews from Phoenix, Buckeye, Tolleson and Gila River were called to the wash near 91st and Southern avenues around 6:45 p.m.
When crews arrived, firefighters used a “hoist operation" to secure the people and fly them to safety.
Firefighters said the couple was evaluated and refused transportation to the hospital.
