TUCSON, Ariz. — A teacher with the Tucson Unified School District is facing 10 felony counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
James Badger appeared in court this morning, TUSD says they will release a statement Wednesday.
Badger is being held on a $150,000 bond and will have a preliminary hearing on Jan. 21, at 1:30 p.m.
According to the Tucson Police Department, the agency's Internet Crimes Against Children Unit began an investigation in October of 2024.
TPD said detectives obtained and served numerous search warrants, ultimately identifying Badger as the suspect.
On Tuesday, with assistance from the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations, and TPD’s Forensic Electronic Media Unit, TPD/ICAC investigators served a search warrant at Badger's home on Tucson’s eastside.
Investigators examined evidence from the home and found probable cause to charge James Badger with ten counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
