Devil’s Bridge, Court House, Cathedral and Bell Rock trails will be among those that will be closed to the public starting April 4.

SEDONA, Ariz. — Some of Sedona’s most iconic hiking trails will be closed to help limit the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

The following sites will be closed this weekend until further notice:·

  • Beaver Creek Day-Use Site
  • Bell Rock Trailhead
  • Cathedral Rock Trailhead and Trail
  • Courthouse Vista Trailhead
  • Crescent Moon Day-Use Site
  • Devil’s Bridge Trail
  • Dry Creek Trailhead
  • Long Canyon Trailhead
  • Mescal Trailhead
  • West Fork Trailhead and Trail

The Coconino National Forest confirmed the closures on Friday.

People who ignore the closures will be cited, a spokesperson for the Coconino National Forest said.

Gov. Doug Ducey enacted a stay-at-home order for all residents on Tuesday that’s scheduled to last through the end of April.

The order along with cancelation of innumerable public events are meant to lower the number of people needing hospitalization during the outbreak.

The state is rushing to increase the number of available hospital beds across Arizona as the peak of the COVID-19 is expected to reach its peak in April and May.

Phoenix greatly limited access to city hiking trails over the weekend, and Grand Canyon National Park was closed to nonresidents on Wednesday.
