A man confessed to killing an Arizona woman inside a Kentucky hotel Saturday, according to the Florence, Kentucky, Police Department.

Police said 26-year-old Amanda Webster of Cameron, Arizona was found dead inside a room at a Home 2 Suites just before noon on Dec. 1 in Florence, Kentucky.

Webster’s death was “suspicious,” police said, which prompted a “full investigation.”

According to police, the room had been rented to 32-year-old Jesse James of Burlington, Kentucky.

During the investigation, just a few hours after Webster was found dead, Florence police officers responded to call at a local movie theater about a man “acting strangely.”

The man, later identified as James, gave police two false names and identifying information. He was arrested for giving the false information and theft of identity, according to police.

During an interview regarding the incident at the Home 2 Suites, James admitted to killed Webster inside the hotel room, according to police.

Florence PD said James was arrested for murder and tampering with physical evidence.
