Dive team to search for man who reportedly fell off jet ski in Lake Pleasant

Peoria rescue crews were dispatched for a drowning call for a man in his 50s and have since turned it over to the sheriff's office's recovery team.

MARICOPA COUNTY, Ariz. - The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Dive Team will be searching for the body of a man in his late 40s after he fell off his jet ski in Lake Pleasant Sunday and never surfaced, Peoria Fire-Medical said and MCSO said.

Peoria Fire-Medical crews said they were dispatched to the 10-lane boat ramp at Lake Pleasant Regional Park for the drowning call and have since turned the investigation over to MCSO and its recovery teams.

MCSO said the man fell off the jet ski, had trouble swimming and eventually went under. Search teams have been unable to locate the man.

It's now probable that this is a body recovery, MCSO said Sunday evening.

The investigation is ongoing and we will report new information as MCSO releases it.
