80-year-old robbery suspect arrested in Tucson

The bank robbery happened on Friday and the suspect was arrested Saturday.

TUCSON, Ariz. - An 80-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery that occurred Friday, Jan.12 in Tucson.

Detectives with Tucson Police Department arrested Robert Francis Krebs, who is suspected of an armed robbery at Pyramid Credit Union on Oracle near Wetmore roads.

On Saturday, an employee at a hotel in Tucson called 911 to report the suspect had been spotted at the hotel earlier that day.

He attempted to check in at the hotel, but didn’t and left the property.

Later that day, the employee recognized the suspect on a post on social media and called the police.

Detectives checked the motels and hotels in the area and located Krebs, police said.

Krebs was booked into Pima County Jail and faces two counts of armed robbery.
