3 kids taken to hospital after school bus crashes in southern Arizona

The school bus hit the driver's side of a Dodge Durango on Monday.

YUMA COUNTY, Ariz. — Three juveniles were taken to the hospital Monday after their school bus was involved in a traffic collision in Yuma County.

The Yuma Union High School District bus was making a right turn onto County 12 ½ Street when it was involved in a crash with a Dodge Durango attempting to make a left turn onto Avenue B, according to the Yuma County Sheriff's Office.

Only minor injuries were reported among the parties involved. Three kids were taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center and a few others were transported by their parents for further medical assessments, YCSO said.

Alcohol impairment does not appear to be relevant factor in causing the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
