Everywhere A to Z: Anthem Christmas Tree and Veterans Memorial

Everything year, Anthem brings in an 80 foot tree from the Shasta Trinity National Forest in Northern California.

Anthem, Ariz. — When you are in Anthem, shopping at the Outlets at Anthem is a must. You'll find everything at more than 40 stores, from clothes to candy to shoes and great food. The Outlets at Anthem is also home to a tradition of monumental sizes for the holidays.

Everything year, Anthem brings in an 80 foot tree from the Shasta Trinity National Forest in Northern California.

“The tree arrives on October 25th which is really cool because we actually have it lifted in with a crane and it weighs almost 9,000 pounds," said Christina Henning, General Manager for Outlets at Anthem.

The decorating takes 10 people working eight hours a day for two weeks. Once complete, the tree is adorned with more than 5,000 giant ornaments and thousands of dazzling lights.

The tradition started 17 years ago and continues to shine. You can catch the tree lighting ceremony this year on November 17th from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Another spot in Anthem that you have to check out is the Veterans Memorial at the Anthem Community Park.

The five pillars represent the unity of the five branches of the United States Military serving steadfast together.

At precisely 11:11 a.m. each Veterans Day, the sun's rays pass through the ellipses of the five Armed Services pillars to form a solar spotlight on the glass mosaic of The Great Seal of the United States.

Although the park is only for residents, there are a number of upcoming events for the public including Autumnfest on October 20-21, 2018. For more information visit www.onlineatanthem.com.
