Scottsdale's 'Bachelor' Arie Luyendyk expecting 1st child with Lauren Burnham

"The Bachelor" season 20 stars are expecting their first child ahead of their upcoming wedding.

Congratulations are in order to Arie Luyendyk Jr., the star of "The Bachelor" season 20, and his fiancee Lauren Burnham.

The couple, who live in Scottsdale, revealed to Us Weekly Wednesday that they are expecting their first child ahead of their Hawaii wedding in January.

“I kind of had a feeling that I might be pregnant. So my friend insisted on bringing a pregnancy test over,” Burnham, 26, told the magazine. “Arie came out with the test in his hand and tears in his eyes. He was like, ‘You’re pregnant!’ ”

Luyendyk Jr. also shared that Burnham took seven pregnancy tests to make sure the results were correct.

After their home test, the couple drove to the store bought six more tests, and “Lauren took all of them and they were all positive,” he said. “We weren’t trying, but we are so excited. It’s going to be a whole new chapter in our lives.”

Luyendyk Jr. took to Instagram to post photos of he and Burnham with an ultrasound. And it looks like their child already has an Instagram account with more than 4,000 followers.

“October was miserable. I had really bad morning sickness and barely left the house,” Burnham said about her early months of pregnancy. “But over the last week I’ve started feeling a lot better, so it’s nice to have my energy back ... When I wasn’t feeling that great, I was trying to go on a lot of walks. But now I do cycling a few times a week."

The couple was part of a controversial "Bachelor" season, in which Luyendyk Jr. proposed to contestant Becca Kufrin in March, only to rescind his offer several weeks later to pursue a relationship with Burnham, with the whole uncomfortable breakup caught on camera.

Kufrin would go on to become the next "Bachelorette." getting engaged to Garrett Yrigoyen in August.
