PHOENIX — A man was found dead after a shooting at a Phoenix barber shop Thursday evening.
Around 5 p.m., officers responded to a call of a shooting in the area of 30th Avenue and McDowell Road.
When they arrived, they found a man inside the barber shop. Phoenix firefighters pronounced the man dead at the scene.
During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that the suspect and the victim, later identified as Anthony Navarro, were known to each other. Police said the two got into a fight for unknown reasons in the barber shop where Navarro worked.
Police said the suspect then shot the victim and fled the scene.
Officers found the suspect in a house near 43rd and Glendale avenues later Thursday night. The suspect was taken into custody.
Police said the suspect required medical attention unrelated to the shooting or his arrest. The suspect remains in police custody in a local hospital and will be booked into the Maricopa County Jail after he is released.
The suspect's name will not be released until he is formally booked into jail, police said.
