Police arrest alleged repeat DUI driver after crash involving seven people

The single-vehicle rollover resulted in two kids being ejected from the vehicle.

CHANDLER, Ariz. — Police have arrested Michelle Andrade, 21, after she was found to be the impaired driver responsible for a vehicle crash involving seven people, Chandler Police Department said.

Andrade was driving northbound on Val Vista when the vehicle drifted off the road, police said. When she attempted correct and get back on the roadway, the vehicle lost control and rolled over.

Police said there were seven people in the car, including Andrade. Five of those seven were children.

As the car rolled over, two of the five kids were ejected from the vehicle, according to the department. Three of the vehicle's occupants were transferred to the hospital with non-life threating injuries. 

Andrade has allegedly been arrested multiple times before for "DUI related aggravated assault and endangerment counts," police said.

The Chandler Police Department has said that this investigation is ongoing.
