PHOENIX — A man was arrested Wednesday on accusations of torturing his girlfriend's 11- and 13-year-old children.

Angel Coronado hit the children with his fist or a belt, used a stun gun on them and used methods of suffocation on them between August and September 2017, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said.

Coronado is being held on a $300,000 bond and faces 11 counts of child abuse.

The children's mother, Cassandra Ledesma, was also arrested and charged with child abuse, the sheriff's office said.

MCSO detectives worked with Phoenix police, the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force and the Maricopa County Attorney's Office in the investigation.
