PHOENIX — Phoenix Police say a man suffered life-threatening head injuries after an aggravated assault near 16th Avenue and Tonto Street around 6 a.m. Sunday morning.

The 60-year-old man was taken to a hospital and is in extremely critical condition and unable to be interviewed, police said.

According to police, witness statements and other evidence found at the scene provided information on three young men beating and stomping on the victim before they fled the scene.

The men are between the ages of 16 to 20, according to police.
