Man in serious condition after being shot at west Phoenix shopping center

Police said the shooting happened Tuesday evening near 75th Avenue and Thomas Road.

PHOENIX — A man has been hospitalized in serious condition after being shot at a west Phoenix shopping center, according to authorities.

The Phoenix Police Department said the shooting happened Tuesday evening at Desert Sky Mall, near 75th Avenue and Thomas Road.

Officers were called out to the mall at around 8:30 p.m. When they arrived they found a man who had been shot multiple times.

The man was rushed to the hospital.

Police said two men were detained when officers responded to the shooting. Investigators are working to determine the role they played in the shooting

The events leading up to the shooting remain under investigation.

Individuals who submit tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case can get a reward of up to $1,000.
