SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A drive-by shooting on Howe Avenue left three people with injuries, sheriff's officials confirmed.

The three people were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, said Sacramento County Sheriff's spokesperson Sgt. Tess Deterding.

Deputies got the call around 4:30 p.m. and were told by the caller that his cousin had been shot.

Officials said deputies found three gunshot victims when they arrived.

Suspect information in the drive-by shooting is still being developed, however, the sheriff's office says the victims were targeted.

An earlier version of this story said the shooting occurred along Cottage Way and there was at least one victim. The story has been updated to reflect updates from the sheriff's office.
