A 19-year-old after school childcare worker was arrested for allegedly showing obscene images to the children he cared for.
According to court documents, 19-year-old Arthur Bryan Carter Douglas worked as an assistant counselor at Paseo Pointe Elementary School when he reportedly showed images of a naked pregnant woman and images of male and female genitalia to a 9-year-old boy and 11-year-old girl in his care.
The Laveen School District said Douglas had only worked at the school for two weeks before the kids reported the April 4 incident. They said they put him on administrative leave, spoke with the families of the children involved and reported the incident to police.
A district spokesperson said Douglas had passed a background check.
Douglas’ next court appearance is June 4. He is required to wear an ankle monitor and is not allowed to be around children.
