QUEEN CREEK, Ariz — A 25-year-old woman was arrested Sunday after police officers recovered evidence suggesting her 18-month-old child may have overdosed on methamphetamine.

Miranda Reidhead was taken into custody in Queen Creek after the child was found unresponsive and had to be rushed to the hospital, court records show.

Paramedics had to administer Narcan, a medicine used to rapidly reverse the symptoms of a drug overdose, to stabilize the child.

Investigators reported finding meth inside Reidhead's purse and the suspect allegedly admitted to using the drug.

"Miranda said it is possible that when she used the meth the day prior, some of the meth could have fallen onto the carpet where the child plays," investigators wrote in a report.

Police said they're waiting for results from a toxicology test to determine what substances were in the child's system.

Reidhead was booked into the Maricopa County jail and could be facing multiple felony charges.
