12 News wins five Associated Press Television and Radio Association Awards

PHOENIX — The 12 News team has been recognized with five 2018 Associated Press Television and Radio Association Awards, earning the distinction of being the most-decorated station in the Phoenix market. 

12 News wins Associated Press Awards in the following categories:

Best Anchor: Mark Curtis

Best Daytime Newscast

Best Evening Newscast

Best Special Programming – Phoenix Mayoral Debate

Best Sportscast- Cardinals Locker Room

The Associated Press is a not-for-profit news cooperative representing 1,400 newspapers and 5,000 broadcast stations in the United States. Forty-eight television and radio stations from eleven states submitted in this year’s contest.

12 News is part of the Western region comprised of 13 states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.  The awards are judged by AP members from across the country.
