A puppy born without the ability to walk or stand, whose condition continues to improve, is going home Friday.

Bueller, who we first met back in January, has been working hard with veterinarians at the Sacramento SPCA, taking small steps in the right direction, and left the SPCA Friday afternoon with his new family.

SPCA officials report the couple who adopted Bueller had recently lost their Bulldog Chubbs to cancer shortly after their wedding.

"They are ready to welcome a new family member into their lives and are prepared for all the love, snores, and possible medical bills that come along with a special guy like Bueller," officials wrote on their Facebook page.

Bueller was diagnosed with what is commonly known as Swimmer's Syndrome, meaning he was not able to stand or walk.

While Bueller will continue to require treatment, SPCA officials are confident he should be able to overcome the syndrome.
