Store leftovers the right way, here's how

Experts over at the Good Housekeeping Institute revealed how some of us might be storing our leftover food the wrong way. Buzz60's Sam Berman has the full story.

If certain dishes aren't stored or even reheated the right way, dangerous bacteria could grow, potentially causing food poisoning.

When saving most dishes for later, they should be cooled to room temperature and then stored in the refrigerator.

Even though vegetables, diary, potatoes, red meat and chicken can stay in the fridge for three days.

It is recommended to only leave rice in for one day. When it comes to rice, the danger isn't in how you reheat it, but how it's stored.

Uncooked rice can contain certain bacteria that can survive after the rice is cooked, and if left out for a period of time the bacteria can multiply.

When reheating in the microwave it's always best to stir that way some parts of the meal aren't cold, which in turn could lead to bacteria growth.

If you're at a party and you notice someone left food out for more than two hours, stay away because it can become a health risk.
