Kevin Kennedy is a reporter/multimedia journalist at 12 News. He began his career in 1992 as a reporter in Eureka, California for NBC. Kevin has worked in Chico, California, Las Vegas, Sacramento, California and Jacksonville, Florida during his career. Kevin has received multiple Emmy nominations and has won a Best of the West award for his reporting.

Kevin grew up in Sacramento and caught the journalism bug early. In high school Kevin was on the newspaper and yearbook staff. After high school, Kevin attended San Diego State University where he earned a bachelor's degree in communication and journalism.

Kevin started his career in news as an intern at a Gannett-owned radio station in San Diego. He also interned at two TV stations in town before landing his first TV job. Kevin joined the 12 News team in 2001.

Kevin has covered stories ranging from wildfires and monsoons to cancer survivors and government investigations. He's investigated the problems that plague our CPS system in Arizona along with issues associated with our border.

As a journalist, Kevin believes his first priority is to hold people accountable while telling stories that touch everyone.

Kevin, his wife, Heather and their two kids live in Phoenix. They enjoy traveling, family activities and an occasional trip to the snow. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys cooking, golf and football. He is also our resident nickname giver. The list includes names such as "Bling Bling," "Hot Pocket," "Shotgun" and "Big Country." You can watch Kevin weekdays on 12 News.
