Jamie Kagol is a weekend meteorologist and reporter for 12 News. He joined Team 12 in November 2019 and forecasts across all shows and platforms. He also contributes to our AtoZ60 franchise, spotlighting the people, places, and things that make Arizona special.
Jamie brings two decades of forecasting experience to our weather team, having covered severe winter and summer weather, in multiple climates, and wall-to-wall coverage of tropical storms, hurricanes, and tornadoes.
He joins 12 News from WEYI/WSMH NBC25/Fox66 in Flint, MI, where he was the Chief Meteorologist. He previously served as morning meteorologist at WFTX FOX 4, in Cape Coral, Florida. Earlier in his career, he served as Chief Meteorologist at KIFI, Local News 8, the ABC affiliate, in Idaho Falls, Idaho and as Morning and Noon and then Chief Meteorologist at KEYC TV 12, the CBS/Fox duopoly in North Mankato, MN.
A graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College with a B.A. in geography, Jamie earned his M.S. in meteorology from Saint Louis University, with an emphasis in severe local storms and Doppler radar. He also holds his AMS (American Meteorological Society) Seal of Approval.
