George Davilas is News Director of 12 News/KPNX-TV (NBC/TEGNA) and 12News.com in Phoenix, Arizona. 12 News is the proud recipient of ten 2018 Rocky Mountain Emmys, including Best Morning Newscast, Best Evening Newscast, Best Sports Program, Best Anchor, and Overall Excellence.
Team 12 is also the proud recipient of a 2019 Gracie Award, the 2018 regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Breaking News Coverage, five 2018 Associated Press Awards, and nine 2017 Associated Press Awards, including Outstanding News Operation- Television. 12 News is the Official Home of the Arizona Cardinals.
Experienced in network, cable, syndication, local and digital multi-platform content, Davilas is an Emmy, Murrow, Gracie Allen, Associated Press, and Prism Award-winner. He has held executive and producing roles for programs fronted by Anderson Cooper, Jane Pauley, Nancy Grace, John Walsh, Montel Williams, Tyra Banks, and Martha Stewart. Additional credits include MSNBC's "Morning Joe," WCVB-TV Boston, NewsWatch 3 Worcester (MA), Court TV, "The Doctors," "Good Morning America" and Inc. Magazine.
A two-term member of the Board of Governors of the Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Davilas is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross. He also holds a master's degree in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School Of Public Communications and earned a law degree from the Syracuse University College of Law.
