Charly Edsitty is a multi-media journalist for 12 News. Charly began her broadcast news career at 12 News in 2013 as a planning producer for 12 News Today, booking guests and scripting segments. After a year, she transitioned into a reporting role, based in Flagstaff and covering Northern Arizona.

Her background is in print news, specializing in Native American issues including tribal politics, sports mascot controversies and identity issues. She is a graduate of the Gannett Talent Development Program and the Freedom Forum's American Indian Journalism Institute. She also has completed internships with CBS News and The White House and is a member of the Native American Journalists Association.

Charly was born in Farmington, New Mexico, but was raised in Phoenix and considers the Valley of the Sun her hometown. She is a member of the Navajo tribe and is very passionate about her culture and traditions. She graduated from Cactus High School in Glendale and received her journalism degree from Baylor University in Waco, Texas.

In her free time, Charly enjoys walking her dog, Lulu, visiting her family on the Navajo Nation, cooking, reading and taking photographs.
