Thank you for visiting 12news.com for the weekend traffic report. Here’s what you need to know for this weekend. Commuters will not deal with any freeway closures, but may see a few restrictions.
The Interstate 17 is narrowed to two lanes in each direction (left two lanes closed) overnight between Bell Road and Union Hills Drive from Friday 9 p.m. to Saturday 5 a.m. for freeway lighting work. Please drive with caution and be prepared to slow down when approaching work zones
Loop 202 eastbound (Santan Freeway) is narrowed to one lane overnight between Higley and Power roads from Friday 10 p.m. till Saturday 3:30 a.m. for temporary barrier-wall installation.
Loop 202 eastbound will be narrowed to two lanes between Higley and Power roads from Saturday 3:30 a.m. to Sunday 3:30 a.m. for guard rail installation. Please drive with caution and be prepared to slow down and merge safely when approaching work zones.
The Renaissance Festival is in town through April 1, so the US 60 near Apache Junction and Gold Canyon areas will have heavier weekend traffic at times. Please allow extra travel time and be prepared for slow traffic. Use caution, especially near festival parking lot access points.
Also, a reminder that 59th Avenue and Southern Avenue is closed until March of this year. This closure takes place due to the South Mountain Freeway construction. Some alternate roads to consider are Broadway or Baseline between 51st and 67th avenues.
Thank you for visiting 12news.com! Have a fun and safe weekend.
