LOS ANGELES - There are 2,630 stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame — and the newest name, Mark Hamill, was inducted Thursday morning.

“We're waiting in line, I think for cheesecake,” joked Cory Dacy, a huge fan. “NO! We’re here for Mark Hamill.”

Hundreds packed onto Hollywood Boulevard. LAPD shut down the block outside of the El Capitan Theater so fans could watch the unveiling of Hamill’s Star.

“Mark Hamill, I feel is top notch,” said Percy Chang, who waited in line for about eight hours. “I love knowing that I’m right here. I want to scream out, ‘Luke, I am your father.’”

Hamill most-famously played Luke Skywalker and also voiced the Joker in the animated series of Batman back in the 1990s.

He received speeches from Star Wars creator George Lucas and actor Harrison Ford.

“If it weren’t for the public,” Hamill told the audience, “I’d be nowhere. From the Joker to the Jedi, it’s been an amazing ride, and may the force be with each and every one of you.”
