Facebook has begun to roll out its facial recognition software to all of its users.
According to Facebook, the social network is using the technology to help users tag people more easily, keep others from using other users’ photos as profile pictures and assist users with visual impairments.
With the new update, some users are worried about possible privacy concerns.
If you would like to turn off this feature, Facebook makes the process pretty simple.
Here’s how to do it on a mobile device:
- Tap on the 3 lines at the bottom of the Facebook app.
- Then go to Privacy Shortcuts > More Settings > Face Recognition.
- After that, tap the question and select “No.”
For those using a desktop, Mashable has this helpful video tutorial.
You can always toggle back to "Yes" if you want to use face recognition.
