Gusting winds, rain again hit Phoenix area

Hot, humid with chance of showers and storms throughout Arizona. Temps under 110 over the weekend.

PHOENIX - More storms made their way through the Phoenix area Friday afternoon and evening after a week of heavy thunderstorm activity.

Maricopa, Pima and Pinal counties were under a severe thunderstorm watch until 11 p.m.

Blowing dust swept through the Phoenix area in the 6:00 hour with winds up to 40 miles per hour, decreasing visibility.

A blowing dust advisory for the Casa Grande area expired at 8 p.m. Multiple storms converged on the southeast Valley later.


According to rain gauges, nearly an inch of moisture fell on areas between Morristown and New River between 5 and 6 p.m.
